Alison Perry Brenton Taylor and Byron Myers were among the 30 entrepreneurs; ranking 7, 8 and 6 respectively. "We are flattered to have made this list. Inogen was founded in 2001 when Alison, Brenton and Byron entered UCSB's University's Center for Entrepreneurship and Engineering Management Business Plan Competition. The group proposed a solution to Ali's grandmother's frustration with her oxygen tanks. After receiving first place honors in the competition, Alison, Byron, and Brenton collaborated to build a solid foundation for the business, secured seed funding, and recruited a veteran management and technical team.
