Atul Bhatnagar president and chief executive officer of Ixia, stated, "After a review of Ixia's financial position and cash flow projections, our board concluded that a new stock repurchase program is in the best interest of our shareholders. Even with the completion of this buyback, we expect to still have sufficient cash available to meet our strategic goals and objectives." The repurchases will be funded from available working capital. Stock repurchases under the program will be made through a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan. Rule 10b5-1 allows a company to repurchase its shares at times when it otherwise might be prevented from doing so under insider trading laws or because of self-imposed trading blackout periods. The timing of repurchases and the actual number of shares repurchased will depend on a variety of factors, including Ixia's stock price, regulatory requirements, and other market conditions.
