Barry Babcock – Chairman of the Board Barry Babcock is a founder and recently retired Chairman of Charter Communications, following its acquisition by Paul Allen for $4 billion in February of 1999. Charter, a Fortune 500 company, is the fourth largest provider of broadband services. Mr. Babcock is currently on the board of directors of Firstar Bank, St. Louis and in the past has served on the boards and executive boards of the National Cable Television Association (NCTA), the Cable Telecommunications Association (CATA), the Cable Advertising Bureau, C-SPAN, and Cable in the Classroom. He is a member of the Cable Entrepreneurs Club and is a frequent speaker on topics relation to the cable industry. Mr. Babcock also is active in many civic endeavors in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
