| Community Lutheran Partners, Inc. (CLP), a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit Social Ministry Organization (SMO), was formed in 2002 to facilitate social ministry development in the West Virginia-Western Maryland Synod. CLP has developed working relationships with The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Lutheran Services in America (the largest health and human services organization in the United States), and other SMOs to facilitate social ministry development among churches and groups of churches, including ecumenical, interfaith, and community partnerships. The vision of CLP is to help the WV-WMD Synod become a "servant synod" committed to the development of unique responses to the needs of the vulnerable through education, direct services, and advocacy. |
