| BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina created Companion Property & Casualty in 1984 to offer workers' compensation insurance in South Carolina. At that time, we capitalized on BlueCross' extensive distribution channels and health-based relationships with South Carolina employers, in order to establish a successful insurance business in our chosen market.
Since then, we have built upon our strong history. Today, as we seek to achieve our mission — to be the best regional property and casualty company, providing security, trust and service — we have experienced exceptional expansion of both our markets and our profitability.
We have grown into a dynamic regional property and casualty insurer. We specialize in workers' compensation insurance, commercial auto, commercial packages, and a variety of targeted business policies in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin. In addition, we offer a very successful personal lines property insurance program for residential condominiums in Florida and South Carolina.
