| TelOptics Corp. is an optical component company born in Silicon Valley and created by experts in optics, materials science and electronics to develop FELTtm (Field Effect Light Transistor) technology. The company was formed in February 2000 to create a reduced-cost optical switch for conventional silica-on-silicon waveguides, and succeeded in developing a patented FELT design that not only met the requirements, but also was less than one tenth the size and a million times faster than conventional switches. We also determined that the same FELT technology made outstanding variable optical attenuators, splitters and combiners. By leveraging mass production techniques of the semiconductor industry, we make integrated FELT designs that accelerate optical component production beyond painstakingly-made discrete structures. |
