O.C. ("Crom") Carmichael III is a native of South
Bend, Indiana and a 1971 graduate of Vanderbilt University.
After serving as Assistant Vice President of First AmTenn Corporation,
Crom became Vice President and part owner of Sports Industries
of America, Inc. ("SIA"). In 1981, Crom was promoted
to President of SIA, and since 1984 has served as President
and CEO of SIA's successor company, Carmichael & Carmichael,
Inc. Once one of the largest wholesale sporting goods distributors
in the country, Carmichael & Carmichael, Inc. now focuses
its operations on the production and marketing of educational
