Hal Zarem, President and CEO
Dr. Hal Zarem joined Silicon Light Machines in 2002 as vice president of sales and marketing before assuming his current role as president and CEO in 2003. As such, he has been instrumental in leading the company’s successful transition from one that licenses intellectual property to one that develops and markets a range of cutting-edge optical-electrical products for applications in commercial printing, direct write lithography and laser navigation.
Dr. Zarem has extensive international experience and a track record of startup success. He came to Silicon Light Machines from his role as vice president of strategic marketing at JDSU, a leading broadband and optical innovator in the telecommunications market. He also served as a general manager at Ortel Corporation (since acquired by Agere Corporation), where he created and managed the company’s Wireless Communications Division.
