How can a small business use the radio airwaves to get customers to participate in its mobile marketing campaign? Set up a contest. For example, a local client of ours, Ultimate Exposure Tanning Salon, wanted to get more people in the salon. A disc jockey at WKSC-FM (103.5) announced live on the radio that the 103rd person to text the word “TAN” to a five-digit number (called a short code) would win a free tanning membership.
