Kianoosh Naghshineh president and CEO of Chelsio. “The storage market is now moving towards 10Gb iSCSI, and our Storage Accelerators are already in wide deployment through major OEM relationships.” The SNW demonstration consists of four 10GbE connected initiators aggregating into a low cost off-the-shelf server that is used as the storage target, all including Chelsio S310e-SR+ Storage Accelerators using iSCSI Offload. IOMeter SAN benchmark was used to demonstrate 333K+ IOPs and 10GbE full-duplex into the storage box accessing actual storage (no RAMDISK). By comparison, a FC link exhibits about 200K IOPs and at most 8Gb of bandwidth. The demonstration includes concurrent operation of the same storage target as a NAS solution running on Chelsio’s TOE, thereby showcasing the benefits of a consolidated high performance SAN/NAS solution that is only possible with Chelsio’s Unified Wire Storage Accelerators. The demonstration uses a simple L2 Ethernet switch thereby demonstrating the low cost of ownership
