The cloud computing crowd in New York City was abuzz with excitement, and were all headed to one direction on the morning of March 3rd – The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center of New York where CloudForce 2011 was held.

This year’s keynote speech was delivered by Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO of Salesforce.com where he discussed the the company’s achievements and strategy, and their impact on improving the environment.
Thousands of participants thronged to the convention center to participate in this year’s CloudForce, and be updated on the latest mobile, social, and collaborative breakthroughs in the industry.
Key executives from BMC Software Inc., Seesmic, Dell, and Thomson Reuters were also part of this pivotal event. The day was filled with up to date news, current innovations, and a flood of great new ideas and enriching activities. One of the most thrilling news announced in the event was the introduction of Service Cloud 3, which is basically a cloud-based way to keep track of customer service complaints.
Aside from workshops and talks on new forces, new apps, and best practices, the thousands of participants also enjoyed some time with the children of the national, non-profit organization Playworks.

This year’s CloudForce event proved to be bigger and better than the previous year’s, with more participants and a bigger venue.
CloudForce 2010 participants also included software and technology big names such as Dell, BMC, and CA, as well as Misys, Thomson Reuters, and BT Business. Nimbus Partners and WebSense were also part of last year’s CloudForce.
This year’s event focused more on mobile, social, and open cloud computing. Those who weren’t able to join the crowd at the convention center were able to witness the event through live streaming videos of the event.
