With so many books out there on social media, it can be hard to know which ones are worth buying and reading. That’s what I’m here for! I just finished reading Facebook Marketing: Designing Your Next Marketing Campaign by Justin Levy. It’s a handy book to have on your desk as you navigate the world of Facebook for business.
Levy (who is a colleague of mine) does a great job of addressing the why and how of having a Facebook Page. He dedicates a chapter on developing a Facebook strategy (something that should be addressed before even getting started). He encourages you to ask yourself:
- Why do you want to use Facebook for your business?
- What are the specific goals you want to achieve for your business with Facebook?
- How can you use Facebook to fill a need, want, or void that your prodspects or customers are experiencing with your company or your competitors?
- Are you currently doing any online advertising? If so, would you like it if you could target those ads more appropriately?
- How do you plan on measuring your success?
These are great questions to really determine your reasoning in setting up a Page. Levy also gives detailed information on how to get the most out of photos, videos and comments on your Page, with examples to illustrate.
This book is small and an easy read, so you’ve got no more excuses to not get on Facebook!

Thanks for the awesome review Susan! I hope you’re doing well!
@Justin Hey there! Thanks for stopping by. Congrats on the book. When’s the next one coming out?
Thanks for reviewing Justins book. I have done some Facebook marketing but have not had much success…I will definitely be buying Justins book. I wondered if you would like to review my book?? Here is the premise of Take Your Spread Sheet and Shove It :
Do you find yourself saying things like, “Why am I always broke?” “Why can’t I give my kids what the other kids have?” “Why am I always living pay day to pay day?” “Why can’t my husband stop using the credit card?” “I have nothing saved for retirement.” Following some of the steps in this book can make a change in your life. I believe that money management is about behavior and habits, not spreadsheets and calculations. Take Your Spreadsheet and Shove It: Using YOUR Personality to Achieve Financial Success goes beyond what to do and into why you do it. One of saddest things I see as a financial counselor is people that no longer set goals or dream dreams. They simply look at their bank balance and that determines what they and their loved ones will do next. My book helps you determine what works best for you!
Thanks
Pam
