Mine Blow-Out in Poor Bottom, Pike County
While the Red Cross provides relief to national and international disasters, our most prominent service is providing relief to our local residents that have suffered from a tragic home fire or community floods and storms. We help people prepare for large-scale disasters and can respond quickly and effectively to sudden devastating occurrences. We provide immediate relief to affected families, including shelter, food and clothing. This same immediate response is carried out every day, provided to victims of smaller incidents like house fires. This past year, your local Red Cross Chapter responded to local residential fires, supporting our local firefighters and helping people during their time of great need.
