For over 29 years, Bulbman has been assisting thousands of customers from all over the world locate light bulbs from the simple bulb for a desk lamp to unique replacement bulbs for the most innovative technology. It began in 1975 when Gerald Roth better known as Big Jerry, retired from State Farm Insurance as a microfilm manager. He began selling microfilm equipment in Northern California. The unique nature of the product made replacement bulbs very difficult to find. Big Jerry realized the need for a company that specialized in hard-to-find replacement bulbs. He also discovered many other industries with a need for unique bulbs, such as those in the photographic, medical, scientific, and entertainment fields. With the help of his son Rob, Big Jerry started Bulbman and the first store was opened in Reno, Nevada.
