C.I.F Inc., a private owned and operated corporation, was established in November 1977 in the State of Texas, and licensed by Federal Maritime Commission as an independent ocean freight forwarder. With the efforts of highly experienced, hardworking, and dedicated staff, the years following the incorporation displayed steady growth in the operation.
The increasing number of loyal clients, and their need for a variety of transportation services necessitated the expansion of the facilities, as well as diversifying the services offered. The first step was to target air transportation. Years of experience with the airline industry accelerated the International Air Transportation Association / Cargo Network Services affiliation, offering airfreight services to our valuable customers. Meanwhile, due to increasing demand for import services, it became imperative to obtain an import license from U.S. Customs. With the brokers’ license, C.I.F Inc. became a full transportation company providing both import and export services via air, ocean, and surface. Presently, C.I.F Inc. is a distribution and logistics company offering warehousing, containerization, and transportation insurance, which are integral parts of the international transportation and distribution operations.
Today’s shrinking world and highly competitive market demands economics as well as trouble-free operations, which brings up consolidation and high volume shipping. Accordingly, the incorporation of Commercial Maritime Services Inc. (C.M.S Inc.), a Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier company, working in conjunction with Commercial International Forwarding Inc. (C.I.F Inc.) and the network of worldwide affiliations, provide more expedient and economical transportation services, thereby protecting the shippers’ and exporters’ investments in transit.
