Fire-Lite Alarms, part of Honeywell’s (NYSE: HON) Fire Systems Group, is the leading manufacturer of quality fire alarm control panels. Headquartered in Northford, Connecticut, Fire-Lite employes more than 600 people and operates in a 302,000 square-foot state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
Founded in 1952, Fire-Lite was the first company to introduce addressable fire alarm systems to the market. Fire-Lite began its commitment to service and quality from a single, store-front family business handed down from father to son. Throughout the 1940's Edward Levy concentrated on the design and manufacture of product, while his son Herbert handled the sales and service side of the business. In 1970, Herbert’s son Mark took over the family business and started the company on its path to modernization and growth. Fire-Lite soon developed a line of integrated circuit devices and expanded its product line to include electronic detection devices and transmitting and receiving devices.
By the early 1980’s, Fire-Lite products were being distributed throughout the United States. In 1984 The Pittway Corporation took notice of the up and coming company and purchased Fire-Lite, providing the company with the resources to expand through enhanced product development and sales, and forge new ground internationally. In 2000, Pittway was purchased by Honeywell, making Fire-Lite a part of the Honeywell Fire Solutions Group.
Today, Fire-Lite is the leading manufacturer of low-to-mid sized fire alarm control communicators, remote power supplies, annunciators and voice evacuation products. Most recently, Fire-Lite introduced the MS-9200UD Addressable Control Panel and the ACC-25/50 Voice Evacuation Panel.
