Firehouse is aptly named as the company was originally housed in a early 1900's firestation near downtown Indianapolis.
Firehouse was founded in 1971 by Fred and Peggy Abel. At the time, color photography for commercial uses was in it's infancy and Firehouse was one of the first-service photographic labs to satisfy the needs of the new commerical clients.
