St. John’s Community Services mission is to advance community support and opportunities for people living with disabilities. For 134 years St. John’s Community Services role as a non-profit human service agency has been to create innovative ways to assist children and adults with special needs as well as the communities in which they live. St. John’s Community Services embodies a continuing search for the most effective ways to integrate people with disabilities into the living fabric of our community. St. John’s Community Services advances its mission through practices that offer models for other agencies, through community advocacy and education and through collaboration with government agencies at every level as part of the policy creation process.
St. Johns’ Community Services is about people and building relationships. It is our purpose to create strong relationships throughout our communities, with our staff, with our volunteers and with everyone with whom we come in contact to best serve people with disabilities. St. John’s Community Services envisions building better communities to build opportunities for people with disabilities to be valued citizens. Building one community at a time, St. John’s Community Services will help people with disabilities to develop a network of friends, employers, teachers and peers who will provide a life time of support, so that St. John’s Community Services is no longer needed.
