| The St. Matthews Area Business Association has been serving the community for 44 years. An initial meeting was held on Tuesday, August 9, 1955 at Canary Cottage, and the formal organization of such an association was unanimously authorized. A short time later, a meeting was set up to draft a constitution and bylaws; select officers and formulate a program of activity in the community. With more than 280 members, it has become an important part of the business life of our community.
